The following story is true. The names and places have been
changed to protect the guilty. There are no innocent people in this story,
except maybe the dashing knight in shining armor. BUT, the story is true; I
stake my name on it. I will stake my life on it. I know the dashing knight in shining
armor very well. To well, in fact.
The story is intended for
an audience of one. It has an important point to make for that audience of one.
But if you stumbled onto this website by accident, then read on. Especially if
you are a parent with a daughter. Because boys are thick, and you must ensure
that your daughter understands this. You and your daughter must understand the
point I am trying to make. It is an important point. This is the most important point anyone has
ever made in the history of point making.
This is how it happened. It happened exactly as described. Ok,
almost exactly. …..our story starts a long time ago (27 years) in a kingdom
far, far away…….
A long, long time ago in a kingdom far, far away lived a dashing
knight in shining armor. He was actually a knight in training. He was not very
brave. It was not that he was a coward. He could kill any man with one sweep of
his sword. He could climb mountains and swim dark and dangerous water. He was a fierce warrior. His non bravery was
evident in his inability to tell a creature of stunning beauty what he felt for
her. Our dashing knight in shining armor
was attending the school for royalty, and at attendance at this school was a
beautiful princess, the likes that has never been seen in the kingdom. She was
dashing, fair, stunning, friendly, kind and had a beautiful mouth, the most
kissable mouth ever to grace the kingdom, and all other kingdoms as well. Her
only flaw was that she was apparently not very good at the science of math
tics, as she was in the same grade as the prince, who could kill a whole heard
of buffalo, but could not count how many arrows he fired at the buffalo. Her
second flaw was that she showed interest at our dashing knight in shining
armor’s friend and travel companion. (We will call him BSF, for back stabbing
friend) And our dashing knight in
shining armor was hopelessly in love with the fair princess. Hopelessly is actually an
understatement. Every time he saw the
fair princess it felt like someone threw him with a glacier. Every time she
touched him he almost cried of joy and when she smiled at him, he had a series
of heart attacks that should have killed a school of killer whales. But his
love for the fair princess prevented him from dying of the heart attacks. He
just suffered the pain in silence. He suffered the pain on a daily basis for 3
years. I cannot pen the agony he felt day in and day out, but I am sure you get
the picture.
Little did our dashing knight in shining armor know, but the
fair princess was also in love with our dashing knight in shining armor. She
tried many ways to tell our dashing knight in shining armor how she felt, but
he could never see what was right in front of his face. She amended her own grades in math tics to a
lower standard just to sit behind our dashing knight in shining armor. At the school for royalty almost everyone knew
of the fair princess’s love for our dashing knight in shining armor, but they
all conspired with BSF to keep them apart, as BSF had designs on the fair
princess himself. The conspiracies keeping our dashing knight in shining armor
away from the princess is so horrible, that I cannot in good grace repeat them
here. The princess made only two
mistakes in her efforts of gaining our dashing knight in shining armor
attention, she trusted BSF to assist her, and as we determined, he was a
backstabbing person of low breed and very questionable values in life. Her
second mistake is the moral of this story and the point I am trying to make,
and it is that she never told our dashing knight in shining armor exactly how
she felt. She used words like “feel”, “like” and “I need purity” as substitutes
for the word love. And no word can be a substitute for love, as this story will
prove.
And so, due to back stabbing friends and the inability of the
princess to say what she felt, our dashing knight in shining armor graduated
from the school for royalty, as did the princess, without ever getting what
they each so desperately desired. The princes decided that our dashing knight
in shining armor does not love her, and married BSF. The plan BSF designed worked
perfectly. BSF immediately broke all contact with our dashing knight in shining
armor, fearing that he will one day steal the fair princess back from him. He forced
the princess to go to another kingdom with him so that our dashing knight in
shining armor had no hope of ever finding them. Here, in this new kingdom he
kept her locked up, and living in fear for her life. All that she had left to keep
her alive was her (still) undying love for our dashing knight in shining armor.
Our dashing knight in shining armor went from the school for
royalty into the world. He was not a happy knight, but had to get over his
feelings for the fair princess due to the responsibilities as a dashing knight
in shining armor. Our knight was his father’s right hand man, bringing law and
justice to the lawless. He had many adventures, meeting various ladies on his
travels and broadened his experience. But still he yearned for the fair princess.
On one of his travels he met a damsel in distress, who was actually an evil
witch in disguise. She enslaved our dashing knight in shining armor with an
evil spell, and soon had him under her control. Our dashing knight in shining
armor had no idea of the vileness of the witch, and was even happy on occasion.
He never forgot her fair princess, but through that life’s cruelty will not
allow him to ever be with the one he truly loved. Little did he know how cruel
life can be.
Sometime after our dashing
knight in shining armor were enslaved by
the evil witch, the fair princess escaped the clutches of the evil, vicious one
time travel companion of our dashing knight in shining armor. She jumped on the
first ship back to the kingdom where the dashing knight in shining armor still
resided. When she arrived at her mother’s castle, she sends a bird with a
message for the dashing knight in shining armor. He arrived 5 minutes later at
the gates of the castle. The fair princess decided to see how happy the dashing
knight in shining armor was. And if there was any indication of unhappiness she
will take him away with her. The dashing knight in shining armor had no idea of
this intention and he wore a happy face for the fair princess sake. The evil
witch did all in her power to show the fair princess that everything is happy
between the evil witch and our dashing knight in shining armor. The fair
princess saw that the dashing knight in shining armor is happy and she went
back to the kingdom she came from, to try and put her life in order, believing
she had no choice but to go back to the evil, one time traveling companion of
the dashing knight in shining armor, or BSF, as he is known in this story. This
was the last time the dashing knight in shining armor saw the fair princess in
person, but she has not yet passed from the pages of the story. After the fair
princess left thing went downhill for the dashing knight in shining armor and
the evil witch. The witch saw that she will lose the dashing knight in shining
armor, and she tricked him into buying a puppy. She knew that if he had
responsibility to look after a puppy, he will never leave her. And so the fate
of our dashing knight in shining armor was sealed, not with a kiss, but with a
puppy. He and the evil which also moved to another kingdom and started a new
life there. Things continued like that for a few years, and this story would
have ended on a sad note if it wasn’t for the wizard of OZ.
The wizard of OZ was a very powerful wizard. He was a wizard of
many and existed in all the kingdoms of the land at the same time. He also
lived backwards in time and had three eyes, but these facts do not bear any truth,
so we will not spend too much time on them. What is known to be a fact of truth is that
the wizard created an orb, a crystal ball if you like. If any person uses the crystal
ball, this person could think of any one in all the kingdoms, and that person
will appear in the ball. More, that person will magically have their own crystal
ball. There was another side to this ball; it revealed the truth as believed by
everyone using the ball. The wizard knew
that the fair princess was very unhappy, having visited with her a few times.
She wore her heart on her leg, as the saying went. One day when she was very
down, he gave her the ball. As soon as the fair princess was alone, she looked
in the ball and thought of the dashing knight in shining armor. His face
appeared instantly in the ball. More, he knew how she felt since the days of
the school for royalty. She also saw his pain, and all he offered up in life,
and that his heart was pure and still belonged to her. And although they were
far apart, and caught in unhappy relationships, they now have each other
through a crystal ball, and they can now share their feelings and hopes and
dreams. Our dashing knight in shining armor now have a spring in his step, and
the fair princess can mow her lawn every Friday knowing that just the thought
of that well kept lawn puts a smile on our dashing knight in shining armor’s
face and a bone under his bonnet. She herself found that even going to church
is now a squeamish and pleasant experience.
And is there a future for our dashing knight in shining armor
and his fair princess. Unfortunately, I do not know. What I do know is that
there is plans for them to meet in the near future, and who will know what can
come from a meeting like that. We can only hope.
And now, the point I am trying to make, the moral of the story
so to speak. If you love someone, if you ever have one ounce of feelings for someone,
speak up. Tell it like it is, do not hold back.
They might not return the feelings, and that will hurt for a while, but
if you keep it for yourself, it will hurt for a lifetime long. Mothers, and my
audience of one, teach your daughters to tell her man when she loves him. Teach them to say it out loud. Else their
live will be filled by regrets.
And finally, for my audience of one. Know this, the dashing
knight in shining armor still loves you. The love has changed from the puppy
love he felt 27 years ago. It is now the love of a knight that has found
himself. The love of a man for the woman he wants with him for the rest of his
life. And although the chances of that ever happening are slim, never lose sight
of that love for you, burning day and night in his soul.
